Face Masked People May Be At Greater Risk For Fungal Infections Of Lungs Than Unmasked
Reason #73 that Face Masks Hurt Kids
Dear Reader,
The wearing of a face mask to protect against a respiratory virus is an act of grand deceit. It is a behavior that defies research on the topic. Wearing a face mask, as this article (one of many) points to — is unsafe to do and is ineffective.
Until the narrative around mandatory masking has changed, each day by 6am Eastern, I will both post here and send out a science-based reason why no one should wear a face mask.
I ask that you help me circulate these pieces to those around you who you believe could most benefit from them. It is important not to remain silent on this topic. These are important discussions to be having with friends, family members, business owners, healthcare practitioners, public servants, and others in the community.

The wearing of a face mask is not only ineffective at preventing the spread of a respiratory virus, but wearing a face mask adds to the risk of fungal infections of the lungs. Boris Borovoy et al. write in “Microbial challenges from masks:”1
“Aspergillosis is an infection of the lungs by the spores of the Aspergillus fumigatus fungus. These spores are ubiquitous in the environment, indoors and outdoors, and are usually harmless. There are many environmental sources of Aspergillus. Decaying leaves and compost in the outdoors around trees and plants, as well as indoors in bathrooms are common locations of Aspergillus. These spores may be inhaled by those with weakened immune systems and can be a cause or a result of bronchiectasis.2 This is a chronic airway infection syndrome, and as indicated above, a risk from inhaled fibers. Fungal fibers may be inhaled and accumulate as fungal balls known as aspergillomas. At its worst, Aspergillosis can proceed to systemic infection, with consequences to the brain, heart and kidneys. Invasive aspergillosis spreads rapidly and may be fatal.”
Fungi may produce chemicals that suppress the immune system. Borovoy writes:
“Aspergillus as well as candida also produce gliotoxins, which are immunosuppressive toxins that in turn enable proliferation of candida. The mechanism of immunosuppression appears to be by alteration of the structure and function of PMN neutrophils.”3
These problems of fungal infection are made even worse by mask wearing, as Borovoy writes:
“It is possible that a warm moist environment, such as a mask worn outdoors or in bathrooms may pick up and harbor fungal spores as well as particulate and/or loose fibers. This is normally not a concern for a healthy person or an unmasked person. When mold spores are inhaled by a healthy person, immune system cells surround and destroy them. Masks provide an alternative environment whereby mold and fungi are held and trapped beyond typical airborne levels. When maintained over the airways, this can create a risk for the mask-wearer. Simply, if the masks retain fungal spores, these may be dislodged with inhalation.”
In addition to bacterial and viral infections, elevated risk of fungal infection is an additional reason not to wear a face mask.

The bestselling book "Face Masks In One Lesson" by Allan Stevo describes how to never wear a face mask again. The follow-up to the book, "Face Masks Hurt Kids," describes why to never wear a face mask again. We must defeat the awful, narrative around the mandates.
Examples of how face masks hurt kids will be posted to the Lockdown Land Substack each morning by 6am Eastern until the narrative around this ineffective and harmful medical intervention has shifted. Face masks are, in fact, not just harmful to children. Face masks are harmful to everyone. Thank you so much for helping me circulate this research.
