Dear Reader,
The wearing of a face mask to protect against a respiratory virus is an act of grand deceit. It is a behavior that defies research on the topic. Wearing a face mask, as this article (one of many) points to — is unsafe to do and is ineffective.
Until the narrative around mandatory masking has changed, each day by 6am Eastern, I will both post here and send out a science-based reason why no one should wear a face mask.
I ask that you help me circulate these pieces to those around you who you believe could most benefit from them. It is important not to remain silent on this topic. These are important discussions to be having with friends, family members, business owners, healthcare practitioners, public servants, and others in the community.

In early 2020, I encountered two mothers, and I quickly realized I was encountering these personality types of mothers over and again.
One, generally speaking, had an approach of filling her child up with fear of the world and fear of all that was not like her. Such a child may end up with generational wounds, wounds likely generational prior to the mother’s own neuroticism and passed along through the family. She was miserable. Her son was miserable. And the father, tellingly, did not go to the park with them.
Another mother, generally speaking, was a most wonderful woman with a happy child, a happy husband, a happy dog, happy friends, and happy family who liked to be at the park all together being happy. She made it look effortless. As the weight of 2020 came down on her and her family, she flourished all the more emotionally and the family prospered.
I spent a lot of time in the park during lockdown, often spending hours a day of family time there. I like to observe my surroundings. I watched a lot of families. The dynamics were hard to miss.
These two mothers represent extremes, but every parent tends towards one of these extremes: teaching a child that the world is a place to be feared, or teaching a child that life is a blessing to glory in.
The two are exclusive. Some parents would like to pretend otherwise, but that is simply not the case. Such confidence and faith cannot co-exist alongside such a state of terror about the world.
Welcome the one, and you get rid of the other. Get rid of the other, and you welcome the one.
I do not know why it works that way, but it does.
You get to decide what kind of parent to be. You get to decide what kind of experience of the world you want to give your child. You get to decide if your curses will be generational.
The decision rests on you every morning, in fact every moment, you get to decide to continue on the same path or to do it differently.
The tales of these two mothers show that face masks on your child are about so much more than just face masks, even if just for a minute, even if just to get through the door.
A face mask on your child broadcasts volumes about you.
The bestselling book "Face Masks In One Lesson" by Allan Stevo describes how to never wear a face mask again. The follow-up to the book, "Face Masks Hurt Kids," describes why to never wear a face mask again. We must defeat the awful, narrative around the mandates.
Examples of how face masks hurt kids will be posted to the Lockdown Land Substack each morning by 6am Eastern until the narrative around this ineffective and harmful medical intervention has shifted. Face masks are, in fact, not just harmful to children. Face masks are harmful to everyone. Thank you so much for helping me circulate this research.
re: "A face mask on your child broadcasts volumes about you." Oh, does it.
Here's Franky's mom- I wish I could shake her hand.

MICHELLE BUCKLEY: Hello, and thank you for allowing me to speak today. My name is Michelle Buckley. I'm the mother to a bright three and a half year-old boy named Franky. I'm a medical speech pathologist and my husband is an internal medicine physician. We live in South Tampa.
I am here today to advocate not only for my child but for all of our children. Requiring our children to wear a cloth face covering in order to participate in their publicly-funded education is not only morally and ethically wrong but it is unconstitutional.
A cloth face covering when used for source control is considered by definition to be a medical device according to the FDA.
I stand here as a medical speech pathologist, a mother, and the wife of a physician to use my voice to say that Superintendent Davis is not a medical doctor and if he was he would need to provide true informed consent before recommending the use of a medical device.
Doctors do not mandate the use of medical devices. They recommend them. And the consumer decides whether or not the recommendation is for them.
I stand here today not to try and convince the School Board that masks are neither safe nor effective in this setting with this population, but rather to stand here and speak to all of you, as citizens of the great United States, to remind you that the US and Florida Constitutions are the great law of the land.
Superintendent Davis* does not a seat a publicly elected position. He does not have the authority to make laws. There is no law requiring that requires a child to cover his or her face to enter the grounds of their publicly-funded school.
I am here to be a role model for the parents who know in their hearts that masking their child in order to keep them in public school is not right. I am here for you. I am here to show you that you are not alone. Peaceful noncompliance is simply the refusal to participate in that which is morally and ethically wrong and unconstitutional. Peaceful noncompliance is the personal choice to stop participating in a system that is unjust. And I'll leave it at that.
Thank you.
