I celebrate you Jason Kinney — a hero of corona communism
The real story from Newsom’s maskless French Laundry debacle
Politico reporting about Gavin Newsom’s inner circle writes:
“…Jason Kinney , the longtime friend and adviser who caused Newsom a good deal of trouble in 2020 when the governor attended his swanky 50th birthday party at the French Laundry while encouraging Californians to avoid gatherings. That misstep follows Newsom to this day (especially in Fox News circles), but it hasn't been enough to sever ties.”
I want to thank this man for hosting a maskless gathering in the craziest of times. I want to thank him for gathering with friends in the craziest of times. I want to thank him for telling a restaurant owner exactly what he wanted and only going to the restaurant that would honor his request.
Gavin Newsom, the hypocrite schmuck, was not the big story at the table that night. Jason Kinney and his courage was the big story, the story everyone missed for the chance to criticize schmucko the hypocrite.
The message of my book Face Masks in One Lesson, a message that still matters, is that those who went through 2020 and beyond acting like Jason Kinney got to live like a VIP and with ease. Demand that you be treated differently than the masses and you were. Those who complied, on the other hand, were treated like a 16th century galley slave - given a piece of moldy bread and whipped until they stopped obeying all day long, thrown overboard once they had stopped being useful.
The second most important story at French Laundry that night was this — why didn’t more people stand up in their lives and behave like Jason Kinney? Whether or not the governor was at the table that night, Kinney would have been unmasked. That’s admirable. No freedom loving person should ridicule him for that. That would be misdirection. The ridicule should fall upon those who failed to do likewise.
If you wore a mask even once, you have some explaining to do — not to me, but to yourself. Ask yourself, why did you comply and how can you make sure you never again comply? Until you answer those questions, you should not let yourself off the hook, because until that day comes you are a sitting duck, awaiting the next awful, evil round of illegitimate authority that bad folks seek to impose on you.
I don’t know what that looks like, but I know you are going to be a sitting duck for that until you’ve dealt with why that happened the first time around. Don’t beat yourself up, edify yourself so you are ready for the next big battle and the next little battle alike. That is all part of living a free life.
Jason Kinney deserves a big kudos for living life that way. All the good people all over the country who refused to comply deserve a big kudos too.
Hypocrite schmucko deserves ridicule.
At some point you came around to the nonsense of 2020, but don’t just let it reside in the past. In that transition came some real learning. That learning deserves to be respected and reflected on and taught to others. In that learning, you experienced a kernel of truth about what it takes to live the life of a free man. Don’t let that kernel of truth slip by so easily, for within it is contained what you need to access in order to know far greater freedom.
