In 2013, the American public learned that a man known as “Dread Pirate Roberts,” had been identified as Ross William Ulbricht and captured by the FBI.
He was believed to have been running an online marketplace in which almost anything could be bought or sold in exchange for Bitcoin.
The marketplace was known as Silk Road.
There are umpteen reasons that have been publicly given for why Ulbricht is dangerous to America.
The truth is, Ulbricht was good for America.
It was the American establishment he was a threat to.
He was given two life sentences for being a threat to America’s establishment.
Silk Road was dangerous, because it created a non-political reason that someone would want to own and use Bitcoin.
It was the first use case for Bitcoin and remains the best use case for Bitcoin — online commerce, purchased in ways that make the normally traceable Bitcoin far harder to trace.
Notably, during the American Revolution, the definition of "patriot" shifted to mean "one who is loyal to liberty," rather than "one who is loyal to his country."
The story of the American Revolution is full of unsavory characters as well.
There was Ben Franklin -- a man who never saw a government contract he couldn’t connive his way into.
Or George Washington — the commander so awful that if America won a battle, it was in spite of George Washington much more than being because of George Washington.
These are two of the more pro-establishment men of their day.
It is far easier to argue the imperfections of the less establishment-friendly rabble-rousers of the day. But even these two were emblematic of the problem with demanding perfection when pursuing freedom.
Had the American public demanded that the revolutionaries been perfect people, the American revolution would never have happened.
Seeking perfection is almost always the enemy of accomplishment
Seeking perfection is almost always the enemy of bringing more benefit to the world.
Seeking perfection is almost always the enemy of those who are doing good.
The Federal Reserve System — like it or not, is the lynchpin of the corrupt empire that seeks to destroy your community, destroy your home, and leave you a mind-controlled subject of the state.
Your freedom requires its destruction.
I had no question about that in 2014 when I wrote The Bitcoin Manifesto, and that is still the case today.
Destruction of the Fed might look messy.
Project Pureblood is for those who demand freedom and have no delusion of perfection.
Freedom and perfection are necessary enemies.
You do the best that you can in pursuit of freedom, rather than doing the job that will get you a gold star and an A+ on the top of the paper.
On August 17, I am going to teach a quick and dirty class, intended to get you a few steps closer to freedom.
Join Project Pureblood to have a closer look at why Bitcoin is a technology that deserves your attention.
