One of my favorite, most beloved restaurants on the planet is in the East Village of New York and serves borscht and pierogis all night. Veselka is its name. If you woke me up out of the most blissful dream at 1:30 in the morning and said “Do you want to go to Veselka for borscht,” even if I had a 5 a.m. call with a client in Europe, I would still say yes, and would do so with a smile, as I got dressed to go out the door.
It is with some annoyance that the place has become a haven in support of the globalists in the war in the Ukraine, since it has always felt like such a common sense, down home place. But the truth is, there is common sense in the idea of using the globalists (and the idiotic Americans who will write a blank check for seemingly anything without pulling out the guillotines for their traitorous politicians) to achieve one’s own dreams.
That being said, I wish to commend the owners of Veselka for raising money the right way, the way it is done in a free country, the way that used to be the American way — themselves.
You see, money taken from government is fraught with problems and immorality around it. Money raised voluntarily from a donor is a very different thing.
I have no problem with the Ukrainians defending themselves. I don’t even have a problem if the Ukrainian government is in the wrong in the sutuation. Have at it. Wars have been a constant part of borders for time immemorial and I don’t suspect that will end any time soon. May the best man win.
I have every problem with the meddling of Washington DC, the money laundering of our government, the machinations of regime-change control freaks in the State Department, Department of Defense, intelligence, and the White House, who would lick their chops at a global war.
They are sick.
They are the real enemy.
Not the people of Ukraine (though their leader really sucks, and is a native Russian speaker by the way) and not the people of Russia.
May they handle their boarder skirmish, and may we be focussed on ousting the sociopaths in our own government.

It is a great point that contributions should be made by individuals at their own discretion. The idea of a central government, stealing our money through taxation, and dispensing it to causes that we oppose is abominable. My money is supporting abortion, pharmaceutical VAX rip offs, defense boondoggles, border defense in foreign countries, foreign and domestic propaganda, and who knows what money, laundering, pay offs, and rip offs we don’t even know about.
Let’s get the government out of redistribution and allow individuals to step up and support the causes in which they believe.
Beautiful take on this commendable action to raise so much money! Thank you for your sage perspective Allan, as always.
