It’s been a pleasure knowing you these past weeks and months and years.
But something tells me you are getting ready to leave.
Which is fine.
Some people get triggered by a difference of opinion.
And the kind of people who get triggered over this one, really get triggered.
Before there was Trump Derangement Syndrome, there was Jesus Derangement Syndrome.
Trump Derangement Syndrome adherents shriek uncontrollably until weakness or even total impotence is shown by Donald Trump. Since he is a fairly potent individual, the shrieking continues until the vaccines leave them with spasmodic dysphonia or myocarditis or some other condition that leaves a person incapable of shrieking.
Death makes shrieking hard.
Similarly, Jesus Derangement Syndrome adherents shriek uncontrollably until weakness is shown by Jesus. There is a problem with this comparison, though. For strength is not necessarily shown by Jesus in ways that are always clear to the world, but that strength (or weakness) may instead be shown by his disciples walking the earth.
That may be you. Or me.
The world wants him weak, and to leave his words of no effect for man.
The worldly church, sadly, is forever fighting Jesus and coming up with ways to make him weaker.
Sometimes, there is something else that can leave a person shrieking — a fellow Christian who disagrees with an interpretation on scripture.
Oh boy, oh boy.
Do you want to see a pair of Christians acting un-Christ-like?
Get them battling over denominational minutiae.
Vitriol over the small things is one way to make sure they aren’t paying any attention to the big things.
It’s one of the most effective ways to get people’s focus off of Christ.
Anyway, there’s a controversial figure. His name is Lonnie Frisbee.
The internet if full of vitriol for this guy.
Most of the vitriol is denominational minutiae. Some of it is dislike of the views of whoever his friends were (more denominational minutiae). Some of it was also the question of how sinfully he lived (mostly more denominational minutiae).
Realizing what a fire storm this is going to start, I’m still going to speak honestly here.
I read his autobiography and I loved it.
I am going to be reading it as part of the next book discussion group.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is nothing.
Do you want to learn about a guy who can trigger people still 30 years after they buried him?
Join me for the next book group. This one will be on Lonnie Frisbee, the controversial charismatic.
And join me before 11:59pm Wednesday night — which is when I open the group up to people not on my email list, and increase the price significantly.
Act now to join me in studying this guy who still triggers people 3 decades after he died, which is really no match for Jesus’s, record — triggering people still 200 decades after his crucifixion and resurrection, but Frisbee’s is still a pretty good record.
What a dream come true it would be to be able to trigger people 30 years after I’m gone.
A pastor friend of Frisbee’s from South Africa, David Owen commented about this triggering:
“There is a religious body of people who are mad at the fact that God’s blessing rested on Lonnie when they think it shouldn’t have been and if they had had their choice, Lonnie would not have had the blessing that he did. But he did.”
I have no idea whether or not that is true. All I know is that I like the Lonnie Frisbee book and want to share it with those who can have an adult conversation about serious ideas and not get triggered like a Bolshevik imbecile.
Tap here if that’s you — https://realstevo.com/frisbee
A grand time will be had by all, perhaps even by a few Bolsheviks.

Your pal,
AL
I have no idea who Lonnie Frisbee is.
Maybe I should do a Yandex search to find out. Maybe not.
Either way, I don’t need to agree with everything someone believes or says to find value in other things they have to say and offer. So, steady the course and keep straight ahead. We share enough in common that we can make fine traveling companions. Forge ahead.
I saw that Jesus documentary about the founding of Calvary Churches and it was really interesting. That's where I learned about Lonnie Frisbee. I'm interested in knowing more. Post away, Allan!
