Until Election Day 2022, I am going to focus on getting good candidates elected. Because I want them to succeed, I want most candidates in my circle of influence to use my reliable system for getting elected. It is called “There Is No Substitute For Victory.” That is only most candidates I know. For the candidates with awful anti-freedom ideas, I hope you delete this email without reading it. For all the other readers, this next month you are going to get a snapshot into some of the unique ways I view elections that have made me such an asset to so many candidates in the past.
A reader writes:
Allan,
Your offer sounds good, but ballots in (my state) are being mailed this coming Monday and Tuesday. They will probably arrive on Wednesday or maybe Thursday and most voters fill them out and mail them back within the first few days of receipt, even though official election day is November 8.
Otherwise, your offer sounds good. I agree with no vax mandates and no masks 100 percent.
Best of luck in getting the right people elected! (My state) is likely the worst of the 50 states in little to no pushback from our politicians. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of ONE who pushed back against the tyranny, that’s how bad things are here. We’re the bluest of the 50 states. One state senator out of 25 is Republican, four out of 51 representatives are GOP. The rest are all Democrats.
Sincerely,
A reader & a candidate

Dear Reader,
I hear a tone of defeat in your voice.
In your district, the Democrat challenger beat the Democrat incumbent in a landslide. That means you are running for an open seat. Your district is wealthy and educated. It is liberal leaning, but the Democrat Party is in a midterm election. On top of that, things are getting so bad for them that Gabbard has just left the party and AOC is getting punked so badly that she can’t show her face in public.
****I would be interested in having a look at how many votes you need to win and the current size of your supporter list.*****
That sentence is the most important thing I have to say in this email, because that data will tell me everything I need to know about your campaign in about ten seconds. If you get nothing else out of this email, I would want you to at least recognize how that single sentence is the key to many winning campaigns. I would then want to see your list of registered voters in the district (commonly found in documents colloquially referred to as “walk lists”).
This is the point in their relationship with me when most candidates recoil in fear. But don’t worry, if you can persevere through the discomfort you will end up much better off from this conversation.
Those candidates who have never spoken with me about this know that they have fooled all kinds of people for the last few months but that they are about to hit a wall. That is what my inquiry represents. They are being asked the right questions, possibly for the first time ever. They recoil because 1.) they have no idea how many votes they need to win, and 2.) they have no supporter list to speak of.
Practically, everything else a grassroots candidate does until identifying those two numbers is a waste of time: yard signs, fundraisers, radio interviews, newspaper interviews, ads — pretty much all a waste of time, especially when it is not rooted in those two numbers.
You see, you are an insurgent candidate. I am not talking about you playing nice and asking to be let into their shindig. That simply won’t work for you. You will only get in the door by walking unapologetically into it and doing so surrounded by your imposing posse.
Do otherwise and you will be unceremoniously kicked out.
You need to focus on the accumulation of raw political power.
You likely have no idea how to do that.
I do.
You have 23 days to build an organization that will give you a respectable Election Day turnout. Whoever gave you the idea that you need to give up (or even let up) once early voting starts needs to be taken off your advisory team until proven credible again. That person should be kept away from every single candidate just as badly as groomers should be kept away from every single child. I really, really mean that. I sort of want to ask you for that person’s phone number and give the know-it-all a dressing down.
You see, we are living through a period of psychological warfare and sometimes the psychological battle is the real game — both in a campaign and in life. The person with toxic ideas is doing the enemy’s work. That’s a fact. Their intentions really don’t matter. Again, the person with toxic ideas is doing the enemy’s work.
If anything, mail-in ballots being sent out means that you have to work harder through Election Day and that you have to keep working after Election Day. It is no reason to loosen the reigns on a campaign.
You are being given the gift of a deadline to focus yourself, your team, your supporters, and the voting public and you appear to not be taking it. Truthfully, in your district, you only need to find 10,000 votes in 23 days. I’ve been through worse.
Sure, it would be cool if Election Day were three months away still, but that’s simply not reality. Time only marches one way. And chances are that you would not have given me the time of day if you read that email ninety days out. But do not fear, a lot can be done in 23 days. I think I’ve drafted three books in less time and singlehandedly. The almost unlimited upside potential of what can be achieved in 23 days is where I need your attention focussed.
It should be no surprise to anyone that in a competitive race the most active days on a winning campaign are in the last weeks before an election. Now is your opportunity to really push forward. That’s what any winning campaign will do.
You wrote me this email with the opportunity of a lifetime sitting in front of you and you wrote me a list of perhaps six excuses in a single email for why you are not going to seize that opportunity.
You unquestionably need my class. You are going to end up better off for having taken it. Not only that, I want you to take the class and promise me that you will keep your supporters engaged after Election Day and that you will run again in that same area if you don’t win on November 8.
Now I’m about to throw in an extra bonus, dear reader.
Mail in balloting is new in (your state). The state financed marketing campaign to motivate people to vote is run by some halfwits called OMG Marketing Communications. They were the only company that bid for the $200,000 government contract to help raise voter awareness. You need to bid for that contract this next time around. Your strategy: reach the disenfranchised and convince them that their vote matters. As you and I know, no one has been more disenfranchised over the past few years than purebloods, conservatives, and the religiously devout. There’s a lot of wonderful potential for a marketing campaign that reaches the truly disenfranchised.
Now, on top of that, after less than five minutes of looking at your district, I can see several strategies that can be employed to get you elected (in this election or very soon) and to help you impact policy decisions whether you are elected or not. The latter option can be a much more enjoyable situation to be in than actually being the elected official. The only problem with that is so few activists understand why I would say such a thing.
But that, I will save that for another time.
If you don’t want to bid for that contract alone, let me know and I will partner with you. As an opportunity, it is worth far more then the $200,000. It would also be endless fun.
In summary . . . The 23 most important days of a winning campaign are still ahead of you and you wrote me the email of someone who is wrapping up a campaign.
Never do that again.
Why?
Because There Is No Substitute For Victory.
