To all who wish to wake to the sun . . . Wake to the sun.
To all who wish to have sunlight later in the day . . . Adjust your schedule according to the seasons so you have sunlight later in the day.
To all who wish to have more daylight during their waking hours . . . Wake up when it’s light out and go to sleep when it’s dark out.
But don’t . . .
Really don’t . . .
Just don’t. . .
Be so obtuse
As to tell me
And you’re neighbor
And your cousin
And every other person on the planet
That the time has to change, because you don’t have the self-control to do the thing that you say is so important to you, but which isn’t actually important enough to you to get out of bed an hour earlier for.
We are not all in this together.
That’s not how life works.
You do you, and I do me.
That’s how life works.
2020 was an aberration that needs to die and go away. In fact, all the “we are all in this together” type predecessors of 2020 need to die and go away too. All the “we are all in this together” type behaviors like Daylight Savings need to die and go away.
The only rolling back of the clock that needs to happen is to roll back every tyrannical imposition to a time when they didn’t exist.
And the truth is, that may not be as far fetched as you think. Our leaders and institutions have almost all universally failed us. I think there are a whole lot of people that are ready for either treason trials and public hangings, or maybe letting the tyrants go off into the sunset to never be heard from again.
But a lot of people are done with these guys who say “we are all in this together” and who think that particular lie is going to give them space to control whatever they want — which is of course the essence of socialism and communism and their cousin fascism — the warm fuzzy lie that couches the true spirit of control that undergirds it, a lie that distracts people long enough for tyrants to be able to seize another inch of control.
My schedule is not in community with your schedule.
My mask does not protect you, and your mask does not protect me.
It’s not how life works.
So quit with the “we are all in this together” nonsense.
Tomorrow morning, I’m going to wake up at the same time relative to the sun that I did this morning.
You know why?
Because I’m not a flaming hypocrite trying to control everyone else, while being unable to simply tell the handful of people around me a simple thing, such as: as the seasons change, I will go to bed at different times.
Instead of doing that, you support this idiocy of everyone just changing the clock like that’s somehow natural. You support changing your sleep schedule (and everyone else’s) by an hour all of a sudden rather than adjusting 60 seconds a day as you just wake to the sun.
Okay control freak.
I know, I know . . . there are just soooooooo many amaaaaazing benefits to it.
Doesn’t change anything.
I still want you to leave me alone.
Everyone else too while you are at it.
Just leave them alone.
Yes, I’m talking to you, control freak.
In addition to saying there are so many benefits to daylight savings, you are the same person who says there are infinite genders. You are also the same person that says that it is good to have policies in every American city that lead to homeless people everywhere, poop on every sidewalk, and a fentanyl smorgasbord. You’ll really say anything to get your way, won’t you? To win a debate, won’t you. To feel a little more control, won’t you?
Anyway . . .
I’ll still be up at about the same time tomorrow relative to the sun, as I was today, no matter what the clock says.
Only I have to deal with the stupidity of changing clocks.
Which will, no doubt, excite you. Because you love the thrill that gives you to have a little more power that you can lord over others.
Daylight savings is bullocks.
It has no place in a free country.
It is a power grab for sociopaths.
Which I guess, kind of makes you a sociopath for liking it.
Or at least a friend and ally to them and their broken ideas.

Absolutely NAILED IT. Again🙌🏼. This is suuuch a pet peeve of mine, I can’t let it go I’ve been railing against this insanity for as long as I can remember. It makes me downright crazy. Thank you for putting words to my thoughts - so satisfying reading this I practically stood up and cheered by the end 🙌🏼🎯🎉🎉
I used to like DST until I had kids, and then it became really annoying - but I still appreciated the longer summer days. Then we moved to AZ about 15 months ago (California Covid refugees here) and now I fully appreciate how sensible it is to NOT go through all this craziness twice a year.
We’re conditioned as a society to accept DST and it can take an experience of stepping outside the madness to really see it for what it is. You make a great comparison with all the other “social measures”that people are being conditioned to accept these last few years. For many who still live in their lockdown bubble it can take an experience of spending time outside it to being back some sanity.
