Great point Allan.....

The actual charges come out this coming Tuesday so we'll see how strong/weak the case is.

Dershowitz's opinion suggests these charges are pitifully weak in an interview I saw last week. Not that I think Dershowitz holds the ultimate truth here but he's been a "never Trump" guy for two election cycles now so his take is from a purely legal standpoint and that we have a two-tiered justice system with Trump being railroaded......again.

Election 2024 is shaping up to be one of America's most important cycles at least in my lifetime and quite possibly in our history. If we don't get this one right well, there is much to contemplate.

As new Florida residents, hubs and I were talking about this very thing last night. We oppose completely DeSantis's run for the Presidency. Very, very foolish -- at best.

The fetishistic focus on the Executive, the exalting of the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue resident -- that truly disgusts me. The States run the crime syndicate -- or are supposed to. That DeSantis misses this point or trades it for a run for capo di capi of the crime syndicate reveals several things about him -- none of them flattering.

DeSantis seems to miss the point that his success here, such as it is, is a model for how all States should operate. States coming together in favor of freedom and acting in defiance of the crime syndicate could save the republic -- not by him or anyone else becoming "President."

I disagree that Trump "empowered" anything. I believe he unwittingly derailed a revolution through his incompetence and vanity. He had his chance and squandered it. He can defend his legacy but ought not be depended upon again to lead this country because he will forsake us all. This country can not afford a re-run of the rot and paralysis of 2016-20 which led directly to our current despair. Sorry, but I say never again for DJT.
