Face Masks May Cause Mothers to Have Elevated Enough Carbon Dioxide to Prevent Fetuses from Being Able to Clear Their own Carbon Dioxide
Reason #55 that Face Masks Hurt Kids
Dear Reader,
The wearing of a face mask to protect against a respiratory virus is an act of grand deceit. It is a behavior that defies research on the topic. Wearing a face mask, as this article (one of many) points to — is unsafe to do and is ineffective.
Until the narrative around mandatory masking has changed, each day by 6am Eastern, I will both post here and send out a science-based reason why no one should wear a face mask.
I ask that you help me circulate these pieces to those around you who you believe could most benefit from them. It is important not to remain silent on this topic. These are important discussions to be having with friends, family members, business owners, healthcare practitioners, public servants, and others in the community.

A careful series of gradients exist between mother and baby across the placenta, in order to make life together safe for both of them.
Nature has prepared for many problems that may get in the way of this.
Research indicates nature may not be prepared for mothers in face masks, however.
There was a time when nature was not prepared for hospitals in which surgeons would go from cadaver to mother without washed hands and deliver babies. Many mothers died until doctors got wise to the problem of their filthy hands. Purpuric fever was the result. Many mother needlessly died. Some physicians of the mid-1800’s insisted on handwashing to not just prevent purpuric fever but to prevent maternal death by purpuric fever. Most physicians refused to go along with this approach, preferring the status quo belief that gentleman physicians could not be the cause of such a problem. It took years for the medical establishment to address this problem caused by trusted physicians.
There was a time when nature was not prepared for women to supplement their pregnancy with a morning sickness and anti-anxiety “medicine” known as Thalidomide. This morning sickness medicine cause birth defects when taken during pregnancy.1 Thousands of children who ostensibly would have otherwise been born healthy, were born severely deformed.1 Starting with the 1957 release of Thalidomide in west Germany which was subsequently licensed in 46 countries.1 It took years of birth defects before the medical establishment would address this problem. This was a problem partially caused by trusted physicians. These trusted physicians worked in research, in the pharmaceutical industry, in government, and in private practice. Just because they are trained and licensed to practice medicine, widely trusted in society, does not mean that they medical experimentation on you and your family is something you should be prepared to put trust in.
It is no surprise that nature is not always ready for every foolish thing done to mother and child in the process of bringing a child to term and into the world.
In an April 20, 2021 article entitled “Is a Mask That Covers the Mouth and Nose Free from Undesirable Side Effects in Everyday Use and Free of Potential Hazards?”1 Kai Kisielinski writes:
“As a critical variable, a low blood carbon dioxide level in pregnant women is maintained via an increased respiratory minute volume, stimulated by progesterone.2 For a pregnant woman and her unborn child, there is a metabolic need for a fetal-maternal carbon dioxide (CO2) gradient. The mother’s blood carbon dioxide level should always be lower than that of the unborn child in order to ensure the diffusion of CO2 from the fetal blood into the maternal circulation via the placenta.
“Therefore, mask-related phenomena described above, such as the measurable changes in respiratory physiology with increased breathing resistance increased dead space volume and the retention of exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2) are of importance. If CO2 is increasingly rebreathed under masks, this manifestation could, even with subliminal carbon dioxide increases, act as a disturbing variable of the fetal-maternal CO2 gradient increasing over time of exposure and, thus, develop clinical relevance, also with regard to a reduced compensation reserve of the expectant mothers.2,4,5
“In a comparative study, 22 pregnant women wearing N95 masks during 20 minutes of exercise showed significantly higher percutaneous CO2 values, with average PtcCO2 values of 33.3 mmHg compared to 31.3 mmHg than in 22 pregnant women without masks (p = 0.04).3 The heat sensation of the expectant mothers was also significantly increased with masks, with p < 0.001.3
“Accordingly, in another intervention study, researchers demonstrated that breathing through an N95 mask (FFP2 equivalent) impeded gas exchange in 20 pregnant women at rest and during exercise, causing additional stress on their metabolic system.4 Thus, under an N95 mask, 20 pregnant women showed a decrease in oxygen uptake capacity VO2 of about 14% (statistically significant, p = 0.013) and a decrease in carbon dioxide output capacity VCO2 of about 18% (statistically significant, p = 0.001).
“Corresponding significant changes in exhaled oxygen and carbon dioxide equivalents were also documented with increases in exhaled carbon dioxide (FeCO2) (p < 0.001) and decreases in exhaled oxygen (FeO2) (p < 0.001), which were explained by an altered metabolism due to respiratory mask obstruction.5
“In experiments with predominantly short mask application times, neither the mothers nor the fetuses showed statistically significant increases in heart rates or changes in respiratory rates and oxygen saturation values. However, the exact effects of prolonged mask use in pregnant women remain unclear overall. Therefore, in pregnant women, extended use of surgical and N95 masks is viewed critically.”4
For the health of the baby, pregnant women should not be wearing face masks. There is too much uncertainty about the harm and there is no benefit to wearing a face mask.
It took a lot of people suffering, dying, and being laughed at before concerns about purpuric fever or Thalidomide were listened to. There is little difference in the total idiocy around face masks.
A key difference is that the discovery process is going all the more quickly because of internet communication. Additionally, the censorship of the message is much more total among official channels. That challenge is minimal. Stay the course and people of good conscience with wise views will emerge victorious from this battle.

The bestselling book "Face Masks In One Lesson" by Allan Stevo describes how to never wear a face mask again. The follow-up to the book, "Face Masks Hurt Kids," describes why to never wear a face mask again. We must defeat the awful, narrative around the mandates.
Examples of how face masks hurt kids will be posted to the Lockdown Land Substack each morning by 6am Eastern until the narrative around this ineffective and harmful medical intervention has shifted. Face masks are, in fact, not just harmful to children. Face masks are harmful to everyone. Thank you so much for helping me circulate this research.
